DISCOVER CANADA - Study Guide

If you are preparing for the citizenship test, study CIC’s official study guide – Discover Canada offcially in use from March 2010, which also is provided for free.

To become a citizen, you must understand the rights and responsibilities of citizenship, such as the right and responsibility to vote in elections. You must also have an understanding of Canada’s history, values, institutions and symbols.
The information you need to know is contained in the new study guide - which replaces the former A Look at Canada (no longer available).
Each applicant will receive a copy of it once the CIC has received the application. The questions in the citizenship test are based on the information in this guide.
The new book "Discover Canada: The Rights and Responsibilities of Citizenship" will help you study for the test. You can borrow it from any public library accross Canada or read it online.
